Philip Reeve’s “Mortal Engines” Coming To The Big Screen, Receiving The Peter Jackson Treatment.

The award winning “Mortal Engines” novels will receive the Peter Jackson treatment.  The Sci-Fi/Fantasy children’s novels take place thousands of years in the future.  Cities of Earth roam the planet on huge wheels. With resources scant, the cities are in constant struggle with one another.

“Mortal Engines” is the first novel in the series, and will be written and produced by Jackson. “Predator’s Gold,” “Infernal Devices,” and “A Darkling Plain,” will follow.

Robert Sheehan of “Fortitude” has been cast in a lead role, and Ronan Rafter of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” in a supporting role.  Newcomer Hera Hilmar as been cast as the female lead.  Production in New Zealand will begin this Spring, with the first movie hitting the screen Dec. 14, 2018.  Plenty of time to start reading the novels.
