For Sony Pictures’ new Jumanji movie, the board game is out and the retro video game is in.
When four high-schoolers discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of – Jumanji.  They discover that you don’t just play the game, you must survive the game.  If they don’t, they will never return to the real world.

Upon be transported into the game, the teens realize they have become the avatars they chose to play as: gamer Spencer becomes a brawny adventurer (Dwayne Johnson); football jock Fridge loses (in his words) “the top two feet of his body” and becomes an Einstein (Kevin Hart); popular girl Bethany becomes a middle-aged male professor (Jack Black); and wallflower Martha becomes a badass warrior (Karen Gillan).  The movie also stars Nick Jonas, Bobby Cannavale,  and directed by Jake Kasdan.
